Meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan

On July 31, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, and Chairman of the Government, respected Emomali Rahmon, a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was held.
At the meeting, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rahim Saidzoda, presented a report on the action plan of the State Program for the Development of Educational Institutions in the Khatlon Region for 2022–2027, specifically focusing on the second phase from 2025 to 2027.
It was noted that the government draft decision aims to address the issues related to the number of school places in educational institutions in the Khatlon Region, the demolition of emergency school buildings, and the creation of favorable learning conditions.
The project foresees the construction of 165 educational buildings providing 53,303 school places, with a total cost of 957 million 850 thousand somoni.
By the Government Resolution of the Republic of Tajikistan, the action plan of the State Program for the Development of Educational Institutions in the Khatlon Region for 2022–2027, second phase 2025–2027, was approved.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, instructed the relevant authorities to take necessary measures to implement the action plan of the program and to provide the Government with annual reports on its progress.
He also gave directives to accelerate the process of digitalization and transition to an electronic management system in the field of education and upbringing, emphasizing the prompt implementation of this method.
It was stressed that the introduction of e-government in the Republic of Tajikistan must be accelerated and ensured to be highly effective across all sectors.
During the meeting, draft laws of the Republic of Tajikistan were approved for submission to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Lower House) of the Majlisi Oli (Supreme Assembly) of the Republic of Tajikistan. These included:
Draft law “On Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan”
Draft law “On the Status of the Teacher”
Draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan ‘On Education’”
Draft law “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan ‘On Military Service and Military Duty’”
The purpose of the draft law “On the Status of the Teacher” is to raise the status of teachers, protect their honor and dignity, create favorable conditions for their professional development and activities, and provide additional benefits.
The draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Law ‘On Education’” aims to harmonize its provisions with the draft law “On the Status of the Teacher.”
Further, the meeting reviewed issues regarding the Food Security Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026–2030 and the Program for Training Specialists from the Youth for the Republic’s Economic Sectors for 2025–2029, with relevant decisions adopted.
Following the discussion of agenda items, Chairman of the Government Emomali Rahmon issued instructions for their implementation, called for serious preparation for the 2025–2026 autumn-winter season, comprehensive readiness for the new 2025–2026 academic year, and the intensification of improvement works in honor of the dignified celebration of the national jubilee—the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
