On March 21 of this year, Navruz was celebrated with great grandeur at the Shirinsho Shotemur Tajik Agrarian University, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan, and the university itself.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Kurbon Hakimzoda, visited the festive exhibitions showcasing national dishes and traditional crafts, arranged in accordance with customs and traditions. He warmly congratulated all participants of the event, and through them—the entire nation—on the arrival of the International Navruz Holiday, the bright spring, and the beginning of the fieldwork season.
In his speech, Kurbon Hakimzoda emphasized that the historical and cultural essence of this holiday lies in the aspiration for happiness and prosperity of humanity, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence, kindness and creativity, love for nature, and careful stewardship of its gifts.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Founder of Peace and National Unity—the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon—one of the oldest national holidays, Navruzi Khustaspay, was included in the list of the world’s intangible cultural heritage. Since then, it has been solemnly celebrated by the international community as a holiday with a history spanning over seven thousand years.
It was emphasized that Navruz is the herald of spring, the bride of the year, a time of joy and celebration, the revival of nature and life, the earth and the universe. Above all, Navruz is a celebration of farmers, as it symbolizes the renewal of nature, the beginning of spring sowing, and the close connection between humans and their environment.
