On March 18, 2025, a meeting took place in the hall of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry between the President of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan, Corresponding Member of AAST, Salimzoda Amonullo Faizullo, and 2nd and 3rd-year PhD candidates and doctoral students from the research institutions of the Academy.
During the meeting, Salimzoda A.F. noted that the adoption of the “State Program for the Training of Highly Qualified Scientific Personnel for 2021–2030,” approved by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan No. 264 dated June 30, 2021, is a timely step expected to give a strong impetus to the training of highly qualified scientific personnel.
He emphasized that the implementation of this program was discussed on November 26, 2024, at the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Lower House) of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, and on December 6, 2024, during a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan. The analysis revealed that the program’s execution remains unsatisfactory, particularly regarding the admission and graduation of master’s, postgraduate, and PhD (doctoral specialization) students, as well as the defense of their dissertations within the system of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan.
Salimzoda A.F. reminded that the Academy opened its master’s program in 2015 and the PhD doctoral program in 2019, through which young scientific personnel are trained annually.
It was especially noted that youth receive special attention in the scientific and educational policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon. Youth initiatives are constantly supported at the state level. It is pleasing to note that thanks to the ongoing support and attention of the Government, especially the Leader of the Nation, scholarships for young scientists increase annually by 20%.
In conclusion, the President of the Academy stressed that in response to this care from the Leader of the Nation, each attendee must master foreign languages and conduct scientific research at a high level.
