Today, a meeting of the Board of the Committee for Tourism Development was held in the meeting hall of the Committee, dedicated to the results of its activities for 2025 and the tasks for the upcoming period. The meeting was attended by a representative of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the leadership of the Committee, as well as heads and representatives of structural divisions of the Committee in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, Sughd and Khatlon regions, the city of Dushanbe, and the districts under republican subordination.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development noted that, given the key role of the tourism sector in the socio-economic development of the country, it has been defined as a priority direction in the National Development Strategy up to 2030. The Leader of the Nation annually, in his addresses to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, gives specific instructions to relevant structures and agencies to expand state policy in this strategic sphere.
In the past year, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the country’s tourism potential and attractiveness were widely promoted abroad. At the same time, during the reporting period, numerous events were organized to promote the tourism opportunities of the republic both domestically and internationally.
It is precisely due to the broad promotion of the tourism potential within the country and abroad that Tajikistan, as a tourist destination, in 2025 achieved a notable position in global rankings according to assessments by reputable international information organizations and networks.
The Committee, as the authorized state body in the field of tourism, is responsible for organizing high-level events aimed at promoting the tourism image of Tajikistan.
In this regard, taking into account the instructions and directives of the Leader of the Nation outlined in his Address to the Majlisi Oli, sector employees are required to pay special attention to expanding the range of tourism services, improving service quality, developing medical, ecological, and mountain tourism, effectively implementing investment projects, developing infrastructure in accordance with international standards, strengthening the country’s international image, forming a national tourism brand and promoting it globally, as well as ensuring the human resource potential of the sector.
The meeting of the Board of the Committee for Tourism Development on the results of 2025 and tasks for the next period was assessed as satisfactory based on the reports heard, discussions held, and exchange of views, with the support of the members of the Board.
