In the modern world, terrorism is recognized as one of the most serious threats to global security and human life. This phenomenon not only takes the lives of thousands of people but also spreads fear within society, damages the economy, and undermines human values. Terrorism is defined as the use of violence to intimidate society and achieve political, religious, or ideological goals. However, it is not only a serious crime but also an attack on the fundamental values of humanity — life, freedom, and security. Critics describe terrorism as a “new form of war” or a manifestation of extremism that brings only destruction. For example, in international analyses, terrorism is condemned as an inhumane tactic that leads to the death of innocent people.
The consequences of terrorism and extremism are tragic and widely criticized, ranging from the loss of thousands of lives to economic and moral devastation. Terrorist attacks around the world demonstrate that terrorism not only destroys lives but also divides societies and spreads fear and instability.
In Tajikistan, following the civil war and instances of extremism, terrorism is viewed as a factor of instability. It not only hinders economic development but also violates human rights, misleads young people, and damages society.
Each of us must take an active role in combating terrorism and extremism. One of the key aspects of this effort is strengthening patriotism and national identity. Every citizen should understand that the country’s security and peace depend on their behavior and attitude. True patriotism is reflected in respect for the common good, national values, and the cultural heritage of one’s people.
It should be remembered that terrorism and extremism are destructive phenomena that lead to the loss of peace and stability both in society and in people’s hearts. Every individual must support peace and national unity.
