The meeting was opened by the First Deputy Chairman of the Food Safety Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Shirinjonzoda Mahmud, who warmly welcomed the guests, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, development partners, and international organizations participating in the event.
In his opening speech, it was emphasized that the introduction of the e-Phyto system is a crucial step towards the digitalization of state phytosanitary services. It contributes to simplifying trade procedures, increasing transparency, reducing paper documentation, accelerating the international exchange of phytosanitary certificates, and aligning the national phytosanitary system with international standards.
During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to the stages of implementing the e-Phyto system in the Republic of Tajikistan, strengthening the coordination of relevant authorities, preparing the legal and technical frameworks, as well as cooperation with international partners, and exchanged views on the next steps for implementing the system.
