On May 19, 2026, the Food Safety Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted the opening ceremony for the first phase of the newly established Professional Development Center for Food Safety Officers — a department operating under the Veterinary and Breeding Inspection Directorate.
During the event, it was highlighted that amid the rapid development of technology and shifting labor market demands, continuous learning and professional development for staff are crucial factors for operational efficiency. The establishment of this center marks a significant step forward in enhancing the skills and professional expertise of food safety personnel.
It was also noted that the Food Safety Committee, as the leading body driving government policy in the fields of veterinary medicine, phytosanitary security, plant quarantine, and livestock breeding, places a special emphasis on building the professional capacity of its employees.
By organizing training seminars for specialists at food safety assurance centers — with the involvement of industry experts and experienced instructors — participants will benefit from best practices and modern operational methods. This, in turn, will help elevate the knowledge, practical experience, and overall readiness of specialists in the field.
