On 30 June 2026, the Republican Forum "Legal Education as a Factor in the Development of a Rule-of-Law State" was held at the National Library of Tajikistan at the initiative of the National Center for Legislation under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The forum brought together representatives of government agencies, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and the media.
During the forum, it was emphasized that, under current conditions, enhancing legal education, strengthening legal awareness, and promoting the legal education of citizens are among the key priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was noted that building a rule-of-law state, strengthening the rule of law, ensuring the supremacy of law, and protecting human rights and freedoms are impossible without fostering a high level of legal culture.
The forum also highlighted that the declaration of 2024 as the "Year of Legal Education", initiated by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, gave significant impetus to improving the legal awareness of the population and strengthening respect for the law.
It was further noted with satisfaction that the initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan in this field have also gained international recognition. At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2027 as the "International Year of Legal Education."
The participants highly appreciated the organization of the forum, describing it as a timely and important initiative. They expressed confidence that its outcomes would contribute to the development of practical recommendations, the strengthening of interagency cooperation, and the further advancement of legal education and awareness-raising activities.
At the conclusion of the forum, all participants were thanked for their valuable contribution to the discussion of important issues related to enhancing the legal education and awareness of the population.
