On March 10, 2023, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies between the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kashgar Regional Administration of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.
The meeting addressed issues related to expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and China in priority sectors such as industry, transport, trade, and the economy, increasing exports of Tajik products, and ways to finance and involve joint companies in implementing projects related to the accelerated industrialization of the country. The parties also discussed matters concerning the continuation of the construction and reconstruction of the Dushanbe-Kashgar highway and other projects of regional significance.
Both sides expressed their readiness to continue cooperation within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative, the “Central Asia–China” dialogue, and to ensure the participation of trade and investment delegations in international exhibitions held in both countries.
