On May 19, in London, at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and with the support of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajikistan–UK Mining Forum and the Tajikistan Industrial Exhibition were held in collaboration with Vast Resources (https://www.vastplc.com/). The event brought together a wide range of domestic producers.
The Forum, held for the first time in the history of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom, gathered over 150 participants, including heads and representatives of Tajik ministries and government bodies, investors, and leaders of leading companies and enterprises from the UK, European Union, USA, Canada, and Australia.
The Tajik delegation, led by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, included the Head of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ilhomjon Oymuhammadzoda, as well as leaders and representatives of other state and private institutions.
The main goal of the Forum was to strengthen and expand cooperation in the mining sector by facilitating open dialogue between representatives of government bodies of both countries, investors, and leaders of domestic and international companies, as well as to explore practical ways of establishing joint ventures.
The Forum program included a ceremonial opening, several plenary and thematic sessions, as well as bilateral meetings between official delegations and private company executives.
An exhibition was also organized to showcase the production and export potential of Tajikistan, including mining products and other domestically manufactured export goods. During the exhibition, investors and executives from foreign companies received detailed information on the opportunities and investment potential of the mining sector.
As a result of meetings and negotiations between official delegations and private companies, two new cooperation agreements were signed.
