LANGUAGE — THE MAIN PILLAR OF THE NATION AND THE STATE
Dear compatriots!
On October 5, the Republic celebrates the Day of the State Language of Tajikistan.
It is a great honor that every year, on the 5th of October, in our beloved homeland — Tajikistan — we proudly celebrate the Day of the State Language of the Republic of Tajikistan, which stands as a symbol of our nation’s independence.
The Tajik language is one of the historical treasures of our ancestors. On this beautiful and rich language spoke and wrote Rudaki and Jami, Rumi and Saadi, Ayni and Tursunzoda, as well as hundreds of thousands of other geniuses who created timeless poems and epics.
Language ensures the existence of the state, embodies the symbol of the nation, and serves as the most important means of human communication.
History testifies that the Tajik language has passed through many challenges and trials and has survived pure and strong up to the present day.
Since the establishment of state independence, Tajikistan has declared the Tajik language a national sacred value and preserves it as a historical heritage.
In the protection, support, development, and expansion of the Tajik language, the role and contribution of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon — are immense and unique.
Thanks to the wisdom and foresight of this great leader, a series of laws and resolutions regarding the Tajik language were adopted and implemented, which greatly elevated its status and prestige.
In one of his speeches, the Head of State said:
“Language is the main pillar of the nation and the state. The nation and the state are the owners and protectors of the language. Language is the key factor in the development and perfection of the nation and the state. Thus, language, nation, and state exist in mutual protection of one another.”
Supporting the language and maintaining its purity is not only the responsibility of the nation and the state but also the sacred duty of every wise and self-aware Tajik.
Taking this opportunity, I sincerely congratulate all of you on the occasion of the Day of the State Language — one of the most important foundations of our statehood and a bright symbol of our national identity.
I wish you great success in your academic pursuits, creative work, and future studies!
