On April 26 of this year, employees of the Institute of Plant Protection of the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences conducted a working visit to Dusti Garden to carry out scientific and preventive activities within the framework of cooperation agreements between the institution and dehkan and farming enterprises. The work was aimed at preventing and controlling insect pests, diseases, and weeds.
During the visit to Dusti Garden, an inspection of apricot trees showed that agrotechnical measures had been properly organized. The application of additional nutrients was carried out according to established rates, which was clearly reflected in the good growth and development of the trees.
However, during the scientific observations, it was found that the green aphid pest and clasterosporiosis disease had spread in the orchard and were causing damage to apricot trees. The main reasons for the occurrence of pests and diseases were continuous spring rainfall and excessive soil moisture.
In addition, during the scientific observations in some areas of Dusti Garden, weeds were observed. Weeds are one of the main sources for the preservation of pests and diseases and contribute to their further spread.
Therefore, scientifically based recommendations were provided for the current application of pesticides: Metkiller at a rate of 0.3–0.5 kg/ha and Confidor at a rate of 0.7 l/ha against aphids, using 600–1500 liters of working solution.
Against diseases, the use of fungicides was recommended: Abiga-Peak at a rate of 1.2–1.4 l/ha and 1% Bordeaux mixture at a rate of 10 kg/ha with 600–1500 liters of working solution.
