The event is organized at the initiative of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of the CIS Member States, in accordance with the decision adopted at the 71st meeting of the Council.
On the first day, the meeting was opened by Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, who wished the participants success in their work and in effectively addressing the agenda items.
In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of holding this meeting amid rapid technological progress and global digitalization, which contribute to the development of statistical systems in CIS countries—particularly in key areas. He noted that professionals in the field of statistics can contribute to the implementation of work programs and plans only through enhanced efforts and by providing accurate, transparent, and reliable data.
It was also stressed that only through joint cooperation in the implementation of information technologies, the development of artificial intelligence systems, the preparation of open data based on international standards—including statistical forms related to trade—and the application of modern tools for processing and disseminating information across various sectors, can success be achieved.
In addition, the meeting is discussing topics related to the formation and modern methods of timely dissemination of statistical data using up-to-date information technologies and artificial intelligence, aimed at increasing user satisfaction with statistical products, current practices in the production of official statistics in member states, and the implementation of recommendations from international experts of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee.
