They ensure the timely execution of directives from the leadership of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and strive to improve the national statistical system.
The editorial team of the "Harfi Omor" journal conducted a special interview with Ibrokhim Yuldashev, Head of the Statistical Office of the Agency on Statistics for the city of Hisor, which we present to our readers.
– Effective operation of local statistical bodies plays a significant role in the development of the sector's system. Could you briefly describe the activities of your office in the first quarter of this year?
– The staff of the Statistical Office of the Agency on Statistics for the city of Hisor, like other local statistical bodies, work efficiently to collect statistical reports promptly and ensure data reliability. We aim to contribute to the development of the state statistical system with a high sense of professional responsibility.
During the reporting period, the office's activities were based on the latest Address of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, to the country's parliament, the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan "On State Statistics," as well as instructions from the leadership of the Agency on Statistics and the executive authorities of the city of Hisor.
In the first quarter of this year, the office received 32 letters from the central apparatus of the Agency, executive bodies, and various organizations, all of which were addressed with specific responses in a timely manner.
– What is the current situation regarding the report collection process and interactions with respondents? Are there any challenges in this area?
– Naturally, work does not proceed without difficulties. We regularly conduct explanatory work and meetings with respondents to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of report submissions. In the first quarter of 2025, the office collected and consolidated statistical reports from 5,008 enterprises, farms, and institutions in electronic form and forwarded them for processing to the State Institution "Central Calculation Center" of the Agency on Statistics, demonstrating the timely execution of the Statistical Work Program.
– The transition to an electronic reporting system is a confident step in the development of national statistics. In your opinion, what opportunities has this system provided to respondents?
– First and foremost, I would like to note that the digitalization of key economic sectors, including state statistics, has a profound impact on the development of all industries and socio-economic spheres of the country. The implementation of the respondent's personal account system has allowed for electronic report submissions without visiting statistical offices. This has significantly reduced the number and intensity of contacts between the state and citizens, increasing transparency and trust. We also engage in discussions with respondents about the quality of electronic submissions and receive positive feedback—respondents welcome the digitalization of reporting.
– What steps has the office taken in connection with the transition to the electronic system, especially in the first quarter of 2025?
– During the reporting period, through personal accounts, respondents submitted reports for 56 statistical reporting forms: 16 monthly, 13 quarterly, and 27 annual. By sectors:
5 forms on labor and workforce movement
8 on industry
3 on construction
6 on trade
