Today, February 9, 2026, in the small hall of the Executive Body of State Power of the Shamsiddin Shohin district, a meeting was held between the Deputy Chairman of the district, Ghoibzoda Nasimjon, presidential scholarship recipients, and youth and sports sector employees. The discussion focused on "Countering extremism and terrorism and preventing youth involvement in extremist-terrorist groups."
The Deputy Chairman noted:
"Extremism and terrorism are concepts that have become widely discussed in today's world, and these two terms are deeply interconnected. In the process of shifting ideologies, modern threats face humanity that demand collective action, unity, and solidarity from society. As undesirable phenomena, terrorism and extremism pose a serious threat to the security of the global community, and high political vigilance is required to prevent young people from joining these groups."
It was emphasized that despite the necessary measures taken, cases of youth joining terrorist groups are still observed. Eradicating these negative actions requires a double sense of responsibility from every activist in the district.
At the same time, the speaker recalled the instructions of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, expressed during his recent address to the country's Majlisi Oli. It was noted that conducting such events with the wide participation of civil society will significantly contribute to:
Preventing youth from falling prey to undesirable factors and criminal activities; Encouraging them to refrain from using reactionary networks with extremist and terrorist characteristics; Preserving National Unity, peace, and stability.
