On February 3, 2025, in Kuwait City, an official delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, met with the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Walid Al-Bahar.
Zavqizoda Z.A. expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Fund for their continuous support and valuable contribution to the country's infrastructure development, specifically highlighting the financing of the Rogun Hydropower Plant, which plays a crucial role in strengthening Tajikistan’s energy security.
It was noted that, to date, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has allocated approximately 200 million US dollars for financing projects in Tajikistan’s transport, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
In response to the request of the Tajik side, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development expressed its readiness to invest in the implementation of investment projects in the country’s priority sectors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation and expanding new investments.
The official delegation of Tajikistan included the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin (head of the delegation), the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Kuwait, Zubaidzoda Zubaidullo, First Deputy Minister of Finance, Madjidi Yusuf, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sharifzoda Farrukh, Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Khudobakhsh Sharif, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management, Yusufzoda Farrukh, representative of the Foreign Relations Department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ramazonov Bahodur, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee, Salimzoda Ziedullo, Deputy Director of the Export Agency, Jamolzoda Abdugaffor, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Jovida Ikromi, and Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, Timur Eribek.
During their visit to Kuwait, the official delegation of Tajikistan discussed issues related to expanding investment cooperation and implementing strategic projects with the Kuwaiti side.
