On 23 June 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan between Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, and a mission of analysts from the international rating agency Standard & Poor’s during their working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin expressed his appreciation to the agency for maintaining the country's sovereign credit rating at a stable level and briefed the mission on the current socio-economic situation in the country, as well as on measures being undertaken to prevent and mitigate potential risks to the national economy.
It was particularly noted that, despite the challenging conditions in the global economy, macroeconomic stability was maintained in the country throughout 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, owing to the implementation of the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. In particular, the real GDP growth rate reached 8.4 percent in 2025. Considering that the country’s economic growth has consistently exceeded 8 percent over the past five years, the representatives of Standard & Poor’s were requested to consider upgrading their outlook on the Republic of Tajikistan in view of the strengthening sustainability of national economic growth in the medium term. This proposal was positively received by the agency’s representatives.
During the meeting, the mission highly appreciated Tajikistan’s macroeconomic stability and economic achievements in 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, noting that the national economy has maintained strong growth dynamics in recent years despite external challenges and uncertainties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
