On 18 June 2026, in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank, a meeting was held between the country’s delegation led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade / Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, and the Director General of the OPEC Fund for International Development, Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in such areas as energy, transport, education, healthcare, and agriculture. They also emphasized the importance of increasing the volume of financing provided by the OPEC Fund for International Development for the implementation of important infrastructure projects, particularly in the aforementioned sectors.
