On July 3, 2025, in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Tajikistan with residence in Astana Mr. Salman Bal, during which issues of expansion and further development of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Swiss Confederation, relations between the countries are consistently developing and have reached a qualitatively new level.
In the period from January to May 2025, foreign trade turnover with Switzerland amounted to 49.8 million US dollars, which brought it to second place among the European partner countries of Tajikistan.
Also during the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the upcoming visit of Swiss entrepreneurs to Tajikistan, which is scheduled for September 15-19, 2025.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and implement current projects and programs.
