Today, 21 September on the sidelines of the International Conference dedicated to commemorating the outstanding scholar and poet Abuabdullo Rudaki, a meeting was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan between the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Academician Khushvahtzoda Qobiljon Khushvaht, and the Rectot of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Dr. Abdolreza Javan Jafari Bujnourdi.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. It was emphasized that the expansion of scientific ties between scientific institutions and higher education institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran creates favorable conditions for the further development of science and education, the exchange of experience, and the effective use of existing opportunities.
At the same time, the sides paid special attention to the preservation, study, and development of the Persian language as one of the important components of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the peoples of the region. It was noted that for centuries the Persian language has played an important role as a means of expressing scientific, literary, and cultural ideas, while valuable works created in this language constitute an important part of the spiritual heritage of the Tajik and Persian peoples. In this context, the in-depth study of written, literary, and scientific works, research into the Persian language and literature, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for presenting the linguistic heritage can contribute to preserving national values and strengthening the connection of present generations with the heritage of the past.
The meeting also addressed issues related to the preservation and study of the heritage of ancestors, national and spiritual values, as well as a comprehensive study of the shared history and culture of the peoples of Tajikistan and Iran. It was emphasized that the linguistic, cultural, and historical commonality between the two peoples constitutes an important basis for the development of scientific and cultural cooperation, while the study of this shared heritage can contribute to a deeper understanding of historical developments and to presenting the cultural and scientific achievements of ancestors to new generations.
The sides further emphasized the need to strengthen scientific cooperation in the field of studying written and literary heritage, researching the works of prominent figures in science and literature, including Abuabdullo Rudaki and other outstanding representatives of classical Persian-Tajik literature. In this regard, the organization of scientific forums, conferences, round tables, joint seminars, and the preparation of scientific works can create favorable conditions for studying various aspects of the shared history and culture and exchanging experience among researchers from the two countries.
During the discussion, the sides also considered issues related to strengthening scientific ties between scientists and researchers of the two countries, training scientific personnel, exchanging experience, involving young researchers in scientific activities, and implementing joint research projects. It was emphasized that direct cooperation between scientific institutions and higher education institutions of the two countries can contribute to the development of fundamental and applied research, strengthening academic ties, and the effective use of scientific potential.
The President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Academician Khushvahtzoda Qobiljon Khushvaht, emphasized that the scientific and cultural ties between Tajikistan and Iran have a strong historical foundation, and that the continuation of such cooperation under modern conditions is of great importance for the development of science, education, language, and culture. It was noted that the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan is ready to expand cooperation with scientific institutions and higher education institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in areas of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen scientific, educational, and cultural relations between the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, emphasizing that the use of existing opportunities in the study of the Persian language, preservation of national values, research and presentation of the heritage of ancestors, as well as the study of the shared history and culture of the two peoples will contribute to the further development of academic ties and the implementation of joint initiatives.
