On April 20, a meeting was held between the Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the delegation of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation, preliminary findings of the OECD’s analytical research, as well as priority issues related to the digitalization of the economy and the implementation of artificial intelligence in the private sector of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The parties emphasized that the Republic of Tajikistan places particular importance on the digital transformation of the national economy, the improvement of the business environment, and the development of e-government systems. Artificial intelligence is recognized as a key driver for enhancing the efficiency of the private sector and accelerating sustainable economic growth.
In turn, OECD representatives presented preliminary results of their research, highlighting both positive trends – such as the growing interest of businesses in digitalization, as well as existing challenges, including limited access to financial resources, a shortage of digital skills, and the need for further strengthening of infrastructure.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on expanding access to digital infrastructure, promoting the adoption of artificial intelligence in the private sector, and enhancing outreach efforts to engage entrepreneurs in government-led digitalization programs.
As a result of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue strengthening cooperation and to further develop practical mechanisms for the implementation of artificial intelligence in the national economy.
