During the 20th meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation on trade and economic cooperation, along with other issues, issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector were discussed. The event discussed the current activities of Russian companies in Tajikistan and the possibility of expanding their participation in oil and gas field development and hydropower projects, as well as issues related to the activities of the Sangtuda HPP-1 joint venture.
