On August 28, 2024, Stockholm. The Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, participated in the meeting of the International Advisory Committee on the Water Process in Dushanbe within the framework of the World Water Week. During the meeting, the results of the third Dushanbe International High-level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”, which was successfully held within the framework of the Dushanbe Water Process on June 10-13, 2024, were discussed. The event also included a strategic Discussion and exchange of views on the structure, goals and possible objectives of the Fourth Dushanbe Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028”, which will be held in 2026. The members of the International Advisory Committee noted that the Dushanbe Water process, including Tajikistan's global initiatives, plays an important role in shaping the global water agenda and developing innovative solutions and recommendations in the field of water resources and climate. The Dushanbe Water Conferences have filled a gap in the global water agenda thanks to partnership efforts and Tajikistan's ability to convene the most important world-class water conferences, especially when the world community has been waiting for the UN Water Conference to be held in 2023 under the chairmanship of Tajikistan and the Netherlands for almost half a century. It was stressed that the Dushanbe Water Process should be used as a multilateral platform for holding various UN water conferences in the future. In addition, given the importance of the Dushanbe water process as a traditional body of the UN system, it is necessary to organize, direct and strengthen the water process at UN Climate Conferences (COP) and ensure the coordination area of the cop water program. The meeting was attended by members of the International Advisory Committee representing almost all regions of the world, UN institutions, financial and academic institutions, NGOs and other interested parties.
