Ensuring Timely Execution of the Leader of the Nation’s Directive to Regulate Cement Prices in the Markets
In order to implement the directives and instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, issued during the Government meeting on May 28, 2026, a dedicated working group was established by the relevant decree of the Head of the Antimonopoly Service. The group's objectives are to monitor the cement consumption and sales market across the republic and to conduct awareness campaigns to prevent unjustified price hikes.
On May 28 of this year, the Antimonopoly Service's working group was deployed to the markets of Dushanbe, the Districts of Republican Subordination (RRS), and the Sughd and Khatlon regions.
Background: It is worth noting that since the second half of May this year, a shortage of cement products was observed in the country's markets, causing prices to rise significantly, ranging from 70 to 85 somoni per bag.
Following the strict instructions of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and as a result of joint measures taken by the Antimonopoly Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and cement manufacturing plants, the situation was stabilized within 24 hours.
The monitoring conducted on May 29 of this year revealed that cement prices have adjusted. The current price ranges per bag are as follows:
Dushanbe city: 54 to 60 somoni.
Districts of Republican Subordination (RRS): 54 to 60 somoni (reaching up to 65 somoni in certain cases, factoring in transportation and delivery costs to specific areas).
Sughd Region: 60 to 65 somoni.
Khatlon Region: 54 to 63 somoni.
We would like to remind you that following the firm directives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, manufacturing enterprises have successfully supplied cement products to retail outlets and markets, and prices are continuing to stabilize.
Nevertheless, the Antimonopoly Service's working group remains active and will continue to take all necessary measures to regulate prices until the situation is completely normalized. Further updates will be provided.
