The multiparty system in the country, which was formed after gaining state independence in the Republic of Tajikistan, can be considered as one of the important achievements of independent Tajikistan's democracy. Of course, it should be emphasized that the multiparty system was formed within the framework of the wise policy of the leader of the nation and the wise head of State, respected Emomali Rahmon, and the constant efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to democratize the country's political climate.
Because it is impossible to imagine the political structure of modern world society without political parties, various public associations and various social organizations. Political parties are one of the most important elements of the development of a civilized society and play a leading role in the system of relations between the state and civil society. Without them, democracy, freedom of thought, justice, and freedom of rights do not develop in society. On the other hand, political parties and public associations are regulators of relations between the state and society. civil society, through which civil society exercises control over the activities of the State. Thus, the existence of such institutions of civil society indicates the level of maturity and the ability to form it.
It was only after the collapse of the one-party system of the former Soviet Union that the Republic of Tajikistan entered a new stage of national policy formation and, despite numerous economic and political difficulties, achieved unique successes in the practice of statehood for more than thirty years.
Today, there are 7 political parties in the Republic of Tajikistan, the existence of which is one of the fundamental indicators of a social state and a democratic political system capable of guaranteeing the political rights of individuals and numerous socio–political groups.
But it is clear as day that the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan occupies a special place among other political parties in the country. For in all the achievements of Tajikistan in various and important spheres of statehood, the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, born during the period of independence and creative thinking of the Founder of Peace and national Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman and founder of the party, the respected Emomali Rahmon, plays an effective and permanent role.
The People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan is a people's party based on the aspirations of the glorious people of our country. Because over the past three decades, the vast majority of important events in Tajikistan's recent history have undoubtedly been closely linked to the activities of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan.
Today, the glorious people of the country firmly believe in the creative ideas of the PDPT, as it is at the forefront of creation and initiatives aimed at national unity, peace and tranquility, political stability, creation and improvement, sustainable economic development and ensuring a decent life for the people.

December 10 entered the modern history of independent Tajikistan in golden letters. Because if we look at history, it was on this day in 1994 that the founding congress of the party decided to establish the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan and approved its charter and program. That is, 30 years ago on this day in the history of the new Tajik statehood, a major political force was formed, with the activities of which all the achievements of the period of our independence are connected.
The 30-year history of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan proves that this party is indeed a creative party that meets the national interests and national statehood of the people of Tajikistan. As the leader of the nation, dear Emomali Rahmon, stated in his speech at the 13th Congress of the Republican Party (Dushanbe, December 13, 2019): “During this time, our party, as a reliable popular political organization, has successfully coped with four tasks assigned to the government of the country: the first is to extinguish the fire of the imposed civil war, the second is to restore peace and stability, the third is the strengthening of national unity, and the fourth is the formation of the foundations of Tajikistan's national statehood.”
Today we can say with satisfaction that the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan has become a powerful political force, the number of party members has reached 528 thousand 600 people, its structural foundations have been fully improved and strengthened. According to statistics, today there are no other bodies in Tajik society except law enforcement agencies and military structures in which members of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan do not function. Currently, 6,527 units of primary organizations carry out regular activities in institutions and departments for the implementation of party programs.
The glorious people of the country also always support all initiatives, programs and initiatives of this creative party, since the party's activities are fully aimed at improving the social situation of the population, ensuring peace, stability and economic progress of the country. As a good example, if we pay attention to two main indicators of progress – the country's gross domestic product and the development of the national economy, we can see that the gross domestic product in 2023 increased by 8.3 percent compared to the previous year, which is equivalent to more than 130 billion somoni, and the development of the national economy averaged 7.5 percentages.
Ensuring the growth of gross domestic product and the development of the national economy in our time, in times of sanctions, unrest and big geopolitical games is indeed a great achievement. Also, thanks to the effective measures taken by the government's economic unit, despite the financial crises, rising prices for goods and services on the world market, the inflation rate and the value of the national currency remained stable last year, with the inflation rate at 3.8 percent, which is one of the best indicators among the CIS countries. The annual support for the development of the national economy, the growth of gross domestic product and the maintenance of a stable inflation rate in the country have led to significant progress and, most importantly, to an improvement in the standard of living of the population.m
The result of the implementation of the wise and far-sighted policy of the leader of the nation is that the monetary incomes of the population have increased 3.3 times over the past six years and reached 112.7 billion. somoni. For comparison, if in 1999 the poverty rate was 83 percent, then last year this figure reached 21.2 percent, which is a very significant result. Also, as a result of the implementation of the government's creative programs, the revenue side of the state budget is increasing annually, and in 2023 its volume increased 1.6 times compared to 2017. The increase in the state budget has certainly led to an increase in salaries, pensions and other social benefits, which is undoubtedly due to the constructive and wise approach of the beloved party leader and leader of the nation, respected Emomali Rahmon.
I am confident that the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, under the leadership of the great and wise leader of the nation, has for many years served as a powerful creative and driving political force for the progress and prosperity of our beloved Homeland. Truly, the truth is from the leader, the Venerable Emomali the Merciful. Indeed, they said, "The party has great power today. Most of its representatives have a special influence and status in society and generally constitute the leading political force in our country. This huge force is able, by personal example, to mobilize society in the right direction to expand democratic reforms, develop civil society institutions, economic progress, and improve the standard and quality of life.”
The people of the country are firmly convinced that every member of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, following in the footsteps of the founder and leader of the party, the respected Emomali Rahmon, will in the future make a worthy contribution to the implementation of strategic objectives of the state and government, improving the legislative system, strengthening peace and national unity, expanding creative patriotic ideas and strengthening national identity.
