On December 5, the 71st meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States member States was held in videoconference format under the chairmanship of the Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting was attended by members of the Council, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Interstate Committee on Statistics of the CIS. The Council considered a number of issues related to the development of the activities of statistical bodies in the CIS, including the process of implementing the project "Development of CIS Statistics in 2024" and strengthening professional competencies in the field of statistics. The participants approved the work program of the CIS Interstate Statistics Committee for 2025 and agreed that the chairmanship of the Council in 2025 will be transferred to the Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan T.Ya. Also next year, the Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Jamshed Nurmakhmadzoda will become the co-chairman of the Council. Also in the Cathedral, K.E. Laikam was elected chairman of the interstate Committee on Statistics of the CIS for the next three years. It should be noted that the decisions taken in the Council will contribute to improving the activities of statistical agencies in the CIS region and strengthening cooperation in this direction.
