It is worth noting that every year Tajikistan Athletes’ Day is celebrated across the country. On this occasion, today, 9 August 2025, a ceremony was held at the N. Ma’sumi Cultural and Recreation Park on the initiative of the Executive Authority of Shahrinav District.
At today’s ceremonial event, the Chairperson of Shahrinav District, Abduqodir Isuf Valizoda, participated and warmly congratulated all athletes, coaches, sports veterans, and sector employees on the occasion of “Tajikistan Athletes’ Day,” wishing success and prosperity to all flag-bearers of the beloved Motherland and to those engaged in this field.
It was also emphasized that it is a matter of pride that, thanks to the country’s independence, Athletes’ Day is celebrated annually on 10 August, reflecting the direct attention of the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to sports and athletes. The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan attaches serious importance to the field of sports as one of the main directions of the state’s social policy, implementing effective measures to develop it, involve a wide range of citizens in mass sports, promote health, and foster the physical and spiritual development of the population, — stated the district chairperson, Abduqodir Valizoda.
It is noteworthy that, simultaneously, a number of district athletes were honored with letters of appreciation and gifts from the Executive Authority of Shahrinav District for their contribution to strengthening and developing physical education, promoting sports, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and educating the younger generation on the occasion of “Tajikistan Athletes’ Day.” The event concluded with a cultural program presented to the attendees.
