On 22 September 2026, a meeting was held between the Minister of economic development and trade / Country Manager of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group for Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, and the newly appointed Head of the Regional Office of the IsDB Group, Hammad Zafar Hundal.
At the beginning of the meeting, Abdurahmonzoda A. S. congratulated the newly appointed head of the regional office of the Islamic Development Bank on his appointment to this responsible position and expressed confidence that the further activities of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank would develop during the leadership of Hammad Zafar Hundal.
At the same time, Abdurahmonzoda A. S. noted that under the leadership of the far-sighted policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, His Honorable Emomali Rahmon, cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the IsDB has reached a qualitatively new level in recent years.
Within the framework of the meeting, the progress of implementation of the current portfolio of IsDB projects in Tajikistan, priority projects for 2027-2028, and important issues of infrastructure development, energy, irrigation and education were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
