Honorable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran,
His Excellency Masoud Pizhkiyan, dear brother!
Ladies and gentlemen!
I warmly welcome you to the Tajikistan-Iran Business, Investment, and Tourism Forum.
It is evident that the trade and economic sectors play a crucial role in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between our two nations.
The nearly 50% increase in trade turnover between the two countries in 2024 compared to 2023 demonstrates the ample opportunities for further expanding economic relations between the parties.
Today’s meetings and discussions with the esteemed President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Masoud Pizhkiyan, further reflect our mutual readiness to develop real cooperation in various areas of trade and economy.
The Tajik side expresses its satisfaction with the continuation of constructive political dialogue between the two countries.
At the same time, we reaffirm our interest in expanding cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and tourism.
The implementation of projects such as the Sangtuda-2 Hydropower Plant, the Istiklol Tunnel, and several medium and small-scale programs stand as significant achievements of the fruitful Tajikistan-Iran cooperation in the economic and investment sectors. These achievements undoubtedly contribute to strengthening the friendship and brotherhood between our two nations and peoples.
We are confident that the practical implementation of the “Program of Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Two Countries until 2030” will yield significant results.
Key instruments for advancing our bilateral cooperation include the Intergovernmental Commission and other joint mechanisms of cooperation, such as the Joint Business Council and the Investment Committee.
Yesterday, as part of the state visit of the esteemed President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Dushanbe, a dialogue between representatives of the private sectors of both countries was held.
Within the framework of this forum, 13 cooperation agreements amounting to over 450 million dollars were signed, further demonstrating the broad opportunities for business and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Honorable guests!
Tajikistan, with its abundant natural resources, including vast water reserves, significant hydropower potential, valuable minerals, rare metals, and extensive tourism opportunities, offers favorable conditions for investment.
