On 15 July 2026, in New York, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, held a meeting with Mr. Navid Hanif, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the outcomes of the Fourth Dushanbe Conference on the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028”, as well as preparations for upcoming United Nations events in the field of water resources.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation in implementing the Medium-Term Development Programme of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026–2030, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), advancing Tajikistan’s international initiatives in the field of water resources, preserving glaciers, and enhancing adaptation to climate change.
