In New York, on the sidelines of the 2026 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF 2026), the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, held a meeting with the Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, Ms. Dima Al-Khatib.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to water resources management, climate change adaptation, glacier preservation, the development of the green economy, and sustainable industrial development.
The parties also reviewed the outcomes of the Fourth Dushanbe Conference on the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028”, as well as the side events held within the framework of the Conference.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of common interest.
