On June 17, 2026, in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank, a meeting was held between the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali, and the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in various economic sectors, including increasing bilateral trade turnover, establishing joint industrial enterprises, particularly within the Free Economic Zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, and attracting Azerbaijani investments into the country's economy.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of common interest.
