On May 22, within the framework of the regular session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, a business forum was held, bringing together a wide range of representatives from government agencies, business circles, and the investment community of the two countries.
During the forum, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin noted that Tajik-Azerbaijani trade and economic relations have been steadily developing thanks to the wise and far-sighted policies of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Honorable Ilham Aliyev
Speaking at the forum, the Deputy Minister, while highlighting the positive growth dynamics of bilateral trade turnover, emphasized that the potential for bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan remains significant and far from fully utilized. It was noted that the minimization of trade barriers, as well as the mutual willingness to attract investment, create favorable conditions for the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The forum participants were also presented with information on the five free economic zones established in Tajikistan, where favorable conditions have been created for the development of industrial production and entrepreneurial activity. It was emphasized that the existing tax and customs incentives, along with the available infrastructure opportunities, create broad prospects for the implementation of joint investment and industrial projects.
