Based on the consent of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the official delegation of the country, led by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nasriddinzoda Ruhshon Hikmatullo, traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, from November 25 to 27, 2025, to participate in the 11th World Halal Summit, the International Halal Exhibition, and the 5th Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization Ministers of Commerce and Foreign Trade.
According to the program, on November 26, the delegation visited the International Halal Exhibition, toured the pavilions, and held working meetings with business representatives, experts, and manufacturing companies.
It is worth noting that the World Halal Summit and International Halal Exhibition were held at the Istanbul Expo Center from November 26 to 29, 2025. This year's summit, held under the theme "Innovation and Advantage in Halal Business," was chaired by the Government of Turkey in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Turkish Ministry of Trade, and the Halal Accreditation Agency. It is considered a key global event in the field of halal economics.
According to official figures, the global halal economy currently exceeds $7 trillion, underscoring the importance and rapid development of this sector in the global economy.
The event was attended by over 40 countries, approximately 9,000 international guests, and a total of 50,000 exhibitors. Over 100 companies presented their products across various sectors. Active participants with large pavilions at the exhibition included representatives from the Turkic republics (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan), Asian countries (Indonesia, Malaysia), European countries (Germany, Romania, and Poland), the Balkans (North Macedonia, Bulgaria), and several African countries, including Senegal, Nigeria, and Ghana.
Today, the halal economy encompasses not only food products but also sanitary and hygiene products, cosmetics and personal care products, pharmaceuticals, halal tourism, healthcare and finance, textile companies and light industry, as well as emerging industries such as logistics, transportation, information technology, and programming.
Given that the halal industry is one of the rapidly growing sectors of the global economy, Tajikistan has ample opportunities to actively enter the halal market and promote competitive national products. Adopting international halal standards and building export potential could contribute to the country's future economic development at the regional and global levels. Tajikistan's participation in such international platforms is considered important for developing trade cooperation, attracting investment, expanding domestic production, developing exports, and strengthening economic ties with markets in the East, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
