On November 27, 2025, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nuriddinzoda Ahliddin Nuriddin and a delegation from the German Economic Representation in Central Asia, led by Eduard Kinsbrunner.
Nuriddinzoda A. N. noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, is paying special attention to developing trade and economic cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany.
It was noted that trade and economic relations between the two countries are demonstrating a steady positive trend: in January–November 2025, trade turnover increased by 36 percent compared to the same period in 2024. However, given the existing resources and the broad potential of both parties, this figure could be significantly increased.
During the meeting, Nuriddinzoda A. N. explained that the country's economy has demonstrated stable indicators in recent years, including annual gross domestic product growth of over 8 percent, low inflation, a stable national currency, and increased exports and imports with partner countries. It was emphasized that these trends create a solid foundation for expanding joint activities and attracting foreign investment.
The parties also exchanged views on a number of economic and administrative reforms. In particular, it was noted that simplifying business registration procedures, digitalizing customs payments, implementing a single-window system, reducing border checks, and making more than 2,000 government services available electronically contribute to improving the investment climate and developing the private sector.
The parties further discussed opportunities for cooperation in energy, industry, logistics, agriculture, and the digital economy. Specifically, it was reported that Tajikistan has significant hydropower potential and is ready to expand cooperation in the modernization of grids, substations, and the use of renewable technologies. The parties also focused on the development of the processing industry, logistics infrastructure, the cold storage network, and the digitalization of customs procedures. The German side noted that German enterprises and companies are ready to comprehensively explore opportunities for cooperation in these areas.
Also during the meeting, investment opportunities in Tajikistan's free economic zones were presented via video, which the German side expressed interest and positively assessed.
Following the talks, the parties expressed mutual interest in continuing the constructive dialogue and further developing specific proposals. It was noted that regular such meetings will contribute to the further strengthening of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
