In his address, Mr. Solehzoda A.A. emphasized that, under the initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, the country is implementing the Green Economy Development Strategy for 2023–2037.
The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is taking all necessary measures to transform the country into a “green state” and has already achieved significant progress in this direction.
It was noted that 98% of the country's electricity is generated from renewable sources, and a state program for nationwide greening has been adopted.
To effectively implement “green” projects, it was deemed necessary to attract funding from international organizations and various funds within the framework of cooperation with the GGGI.
In this regard, Mr. Solehzoda presented a number of investment projects and important initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation between Tajikistan and GGGI.
He further stressed: “We are confident that GGGI will become a key partner of our country in achieving sustainable development, a just energy transition, and building a green economy,” and expressed Tajikistan’s readiness to actively participate in shaping the Institute’s future agenda.
At the conclusion of the session, following discussions, the GGGI Strategy for 2026–2030 was adopted.
It should be noted that since October 25, 2024, the Republic of Tajikistan has been a member of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
