On September 24, 2025, a meeting was held in Moscow between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, and the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that, thanks to the far-sighted policies of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Russian Federation, Honorable Vladimir Putin, bilateral relations have been rapidly developing and have reached a new strategic level.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the establishment of a joint industrial park in the city of Dushanbe, the involvement of Russian manufacturing companies, and the creation of a light industry cluster with the participation of the company “BTK”.
It was noted that more than 10 leading companies from the Russian Federation—operating in light industry, construction, woodworking, medical equipment production, and other sectors—have expressed interest in participating in the activities of the joint industrial park in Dushanbe. These companies have also declared their readiness to invest, share expertise, and introduce modern technologies. Their participation could contribute to the development of production capacities, the creation of new jobs, and the enhancement of the competitiveness of domestic products in both local and foreign markets.
The parties went on to discuss the increase of trade turnover, the improvement of the trade and economic cooperation framework, the attraction of investment into priority sectors, and the expansion of industrial cooperation. It was emphasized that in the first eight months of 2025, bilateral trade turnover increased by 14%. The parties expressed satisfaction with the development and mutual approval of a "Roadmap" aimed at increasing foreign trade turnover, which is expected to further promote bilateral trade and investment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Russian side reaffirmed its readiness to implement industrial projects, expand economic ties, and support joint initiatives between Tajikistan and Russia.
