On July 15, 2025, a delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mr. Solehzoda A. A., met with analysts from the international credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s in the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Solehzoda expressed appreciation to the agency for its ongoing support in maintaining the country’s sovereign credit rating at a stable and sustainable level. He provided the delegation with an overview of the socio-economic landscape of Tajikistan and outlined the proactive measures undertaken to mitigate potential risks to the national economy.
Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that, despite the complex global economic conditions throughout 2024 and the first half of 2025, the country successfully ensured macroeconomic stability. This achievement was attributed to the steadfast implementation of directives from the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, Honorable President Emomali Rahmon. Notably, the real GDP growth rate reached an impressive 8.4% in 2024.
Given the sustained economic growth exceeding 8% over the past five years, the agency was formally invited to revise upward its outlook on the Republic of Tajikistan, reflecting the strengthening of national economic development over the medium term. This proposal was received positively by the delegation.
The analysts commended Tajikistan’s macroeconomic resilience and economic performance in 2024, recognizing that the national economy has remained robust despite external challenges.
The parties concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to further deepen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
