The exhibition includes archaeological and ethnographic materials, manuscript copies, lithographic books, paintings, coins from different historical periods, various types of suzani embroidery, as well as chapan robes and dresses decorated with traditional Chakan embroidery, reflecting the ancient history and culture of the Tajik people.
A special place in the exhibition is occupied by a richly embroidered Chakan textile created by six skilled craftswomen from the city of Kulob over a period of six months. The embroidery measures 6 × 6 meters. It should be noted that this is the largest embroidered work in the collection of the National Museum.
The exhibition also features a unique archaeological discovery by the National Museum’s archaeologists — a two-handled water vessel bearing an ancient Bactrian inscription, discovered during archaeological excavations at the Khalqajar archaeological site in the Khuroson District.
It is noteworthy that from Navruz 2025 to Navruz 2026, five historical and cultural artifacts were donated to the National Museum by the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, His Excellency Rustam Emomali.
