Today, February 4, 2026, an exhibition of works by young artists entitled “Youth Against Terrorism” was opened at the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the initiative of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by the Director of the National Museum, Ibrahimzoda Zafarsho Safo; Senior Prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, Yusufzoda Yusuf; and Head of the Department of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee, Ahmad Ismat Saif Aldawla Abbas.
The opening ceremony was attended by the management and staff of the National Museum, representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of prominent international organizations, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, students and pupils of the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan, the Children’s Art School named after Odina Hoshim, representatives of the mass media, and other guests.
During the speeches, it was noted that terrorism and extremism have today become serious global threats, posing a danger to the security of states, peace and stability in society, and the peaceful lives of people. In this context, preventing young people from becoming involved in extremist groups, increasing their level of legal, political and cultural awareness, as well as fostering patriotism, are among the priority areas of state policy. At the same time, the important role of young people in preserving peace and stability and protecting national independence was emphasized.
It was also noted that, during the period of state independence, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has established a strong legal, organizational and institutional framework for countering terrorism and extremism by adopting and implementing a number of important laws and strategies.
As part of the event, participants viewed the exhibition of works by young artists. Through the language of art, the displayed works reflect the threats posed by terrorism and extremism, their tragic consequences, as well as the importance of peace and national unity.
At the conclusion of the event, the authors of the works — young artists — were presented with gifts and honorary awards in recognition of their valuable contribution to promoting the ideas of peace, patriotism and national self-awareness.
It should be noted that young people, as a major part of society and the future of the nation, should actively contribute to ensuring the security of the country and countering various negative phenomena, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility, political awareness and pride in national statehood. As emphasized by the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, young people are a constructive force and one of the key factors in the development of society.
The exhibition “Youth Against Terrorism” will remain open at the National Museum until February 14, 2026.
