On March 22 of this year, in the Vahdat settlement jamoat, in the Hamdilon neighborhood, at Secondary School No. 21, the holiday of Navruz — the festival of spring and the revival of nature — was celebrated in a festive and solemn atmosphere. Residents of nearby areas gathered at the celebration venue wearing traditional national clothing, with smiling faces and high spirits.
Exhibitions of local artisans’ handmade works were organized in different corners of the venue. In particular, the festive tables “Haft Sin” and “Haft Shin” were beautifully arranged, and sumanak — a symbol of abundance and prosperity — was also displayed. A variety of dishes prepared by the women and girls of the jamoat, known for their exceptional taste, received high praise. In another section, woodcarving and jewelry crafted by local masters attracted the attention of guests.
Then, Azam Mirzoev, a representative of the executive body of state authority of Lakhsh district, delivered a speech and sincerely congratulated the residents of the Vahdat settlement jamoat on the International Navruz holiday on behalf of the district chairman, respected Kholzoda Karomiddin Kamoliddin.
During the event, various sports competitions were held. Wrestling contests among youth and children were especially engaging and professional. Traditional games such as egg tapping, tug-of-war, and national running were also organized, fostering a spirit of healthy competition among young people.
At the end of the celebration, local performers and talented students presented an entertaining cultural program of songs and dances, delighting all attendees. Their performances reflected the rich, intertwined cultural traditions of the Tajik and Kyrgyz peoples. The performers and talented students of Secondary School No. 21 were highly praised by the representative of the executive authority.
