Today, a scientific and theoretical conference entitled “Achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan During 35 Years of State Independence”, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Independence, was held in the hall of the Tajik Agrarian University named after Shirinsho Shotemur.
The scientific event was attended by scientific staff of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan, as well as agricultural scientists from the institutes of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences and scientific research centers. In particular, the staff of the Institute of Animal Husbandry and Pastures of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan actively participated in the event. Before the beginning of the conference, the participants became acquainted with the achievements of agricultural workers and the development of the sector over the past 35 years.
It was emphasized that independence is the greatest blessing and a sacred value for every nation and state. A nation that possesses independence can independently determine its future path, preserve its national values, and contribute to the development and prosperity of its homeland.
For the Tajik people, independence is also considered one of the most important achievements in the modern history of the country. The state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan gave the Tajik people the opportunity, after thousands of years, to strengthen their national statehood and choose an independent path of political, economic, and social development.
On September 9, 1991, the Republic of Tajikistan declared its state independence. This date has remained in the history of the Tajik nation as a decisive and unforgettable day. From that day onward, Tajikistan entered the international community as an independent state.
Independence gave the Tajik people the opportunity to have their own state symbols — the National Flag, the National Emblem, and the National Anthem — to independently determine their domestic and foreign policies, and to protect their national interests at the international level.
One of the most important achievements of the period of independence has been the establishment of peace and national unity. For Tajikistan, peace became not only the end of the war, but also the beginning of a new stage of state-building and national development. National unity enabled the people, through solidarity and mutual understanding, to focus on constructive and development-oriented activities.
The experience of peace in Tajikistan demonstrated that even after difficult times, lasting peace and stability can be achieved through dialogue, tolerance, and mutual forgiveness.
Independence also created favorable conditions for the revival of national self-awareness.
During the years of independence, Tajikistan has taken important steps toward economic development and the advancement of agriculture. Independence enabled Tajikistan to use its natural resources and agricultural potential for national development.
The agricultural sector has also acquired particular importance during the period of independence. Through the initiatives of scientists of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, under the leadership of Academician A. Salimzoda, significant progress has been made in scientific research aimed at developing new types and breeds of sheep, improving crop cultivation technologies, ensuring the efficient use of land, and developing poultry farming, fish farming, and other areas of the agricultural sector.
The conference emphasized that the homeland is sacred to every person. Tajikistan is the land of our ancestors, a country with an ancient history, rich culture, beautiful nature, and hardworking people. Love for the homeland should take root in every person's heart from childhood.
We must contribute to the improvement and development of the places where we live, our cities, and our villages. The improvement of one street, one school, one neighborhood, or one village collectively contributes to the prosperity of the entire country.
The state independence of Tajikistan is the greatest achievement in the modern history of the Tajik people. It has given our people the opportunity to have an independent state, develop their national culture and language, choose their own path of development, and establish their rightful place in the international community.
To appreciate independence means to appreciate the homeland, the nation, peace, and our future.
During the scientific event, the best employees of the sector were recognized and honored for their contributions. The gathering concluded in a festive and solemn atmosphere.
