Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Library of Tajikistan and the National Library of Turkey
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the State Institution “National Library” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Library of Turkey. The document was signed by Jumakhon Fayzalizoda, Director of the National Library of Tajikistan, and Taner Bioglu, Director of the National Library of Turkey.
The MoU consists of 12 articles and establishes a framework for cooperation in the exchange of books, journals, and publications related to culture, literature, and the history of both countries. It also covers the mutual exchange of certain works on CD and DVD in accordance with the national laws of each country.
Both parties will support staff exchanges in various library-related fields, promote joint scientific research, studies, and the dissemination of written cultural heritage, and participate together in cultural events, professional conferences, training seminars, exhibitions, and work visits, including collaborative research on library collections.
The agreement also encourages the expansion of cooperation in document preservation and restoration technologies, as well as the use of information technologies in library operations.
Moreover, the parties will organize library activities in coordination with the laws of their respective countries, including sharing knowledge about cultural life and international events taking place in either country, supporting the participation of their representatives in such events.
The MoU covers a wide range of cooperation, including:
Exchange of publications between the national libraries.
Organization of expert work visits in areas of mutual interest.
Cooperation in preservation, research, and restoration of books reflecting cultural heritage.
Exchange of printed and electronic materials in accordance with national legislation.
Participation of representatives in international book exhibitions held in both countries.
Development of cooperation in training library professionals and sharing practical experience in library management.
This agreement reflects a strong commitment to strengthening cultural, educational, and professional ties between the libraries of Tajikistan and Turkey.
