In line with the work program, a meeting was held within the framework of the "Digital Almaty 2025" forum between the director of the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mr. Vincenzo Aquaro, the Head of the Digital Government Department of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in the fields of information technology, e-government implementation, and artificial intelligence.
In discussing cooperation within the UN framework, the parties expressed their gratitude for the continued support of the initiatives of the Republic of Tajikistan by the UN, particularly the initiatives presented by the President of Tajikistan at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
It should be noted that the Head of our state, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, called the effective use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence a solid foundation for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. He proposed that "the General Assembly adopt a special resolution at the next session on the role of artificial intelligence in creating new opportunities for the development of the economic and social sectors and accelerating efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia."
To enhance international cooperation, on February 1, 2025, a meeting was held between the director of the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Advisor to the Minister of Digitalization of Mongolia, Mr. Mainbayar Tulgat.
The parties exchanged views on various aspects of bilateral cooperation, with a special focus on strengthening inter-agency coordination in the field of digital policy.
