On November 25th of 2024, a session dedicated to «The Role of Development Partners in Supporting Digital Transformation: Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects» was held within the framework of the International Forum «Digital Tajikistan».
This session was attended by specialists of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies and the management of development partners, including the World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Swiss Cooperation Office. in the Republic of Tajikistan - Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ).
It is also important to note that the session was moderated by Mr. Ozan Sevimli – World Bank Group Country Manager for Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the partners noted the progress of digitalization in the country, touched upon the existing challenges, highlighted the strengthening of infrastructure and improving digital skills of the population as important areas of digitalization of the country.
The parties came to the conclusion that digitalization of Tajikistan has a great potential and with the right strategy, cooperation and joint coordination of activities of sectoral structures and stakeholders, this sector can become an accelerator of socio-economic development of the country.
