On August 30, 2024, a round table on the topic "Innovation and Development of Tajikistan" was held at the initiative of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The main aim of this event was to define an innovative vision for the development of various economic and social spheres, which is based on the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030.
According to this Strategy, further development is based on the transition from an industrial to an industrial-innovative scenario.
For this purpose, the Republic of Tajikistan has adopted and is implementing various strategic and program documents in the direction of scientific and innovative development and the development of artificial intelligence.
During his opening remarks, the Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan noted that since independence, with the support and leadership of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, complete economic and social stability has been ensured, and, in this process, the development of innovations is of exceptional importance.
Taking this into account and aiming to implement innovative development in various industries and achieve digital integrity, the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies has started its activities.
Measures are currently being implemented to ensure the transition to a digital innovation system through global best practices.
On the round table, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan spoke on the topic of "Integration of science with production in the era of independence", the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan spoke on the topic of "Stages of development and measures being implemented to form innovative medicine", the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan spoke on the topic of "Current state and prospects for public and private investment in innovative projects", the Director of the Center for Innovative Development of Science and New Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan spoke on the topic of "Problems of innovative development and activities of innovation and technology centers and parks in the Republic of Tajikistan" and the Director of the Institute of Economics and Systematic Research of Agricultural Development of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Tajikistan spoke on the topic of "Improving the value chain of agricultural products using innovative methods".
The Director of the State Institution "National Patent and Information Center" of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan attended the round table as well as industry experts, and representatives of the private sector. At the end of the event, an open discussion was held between specialists and industry experts, and the current state of innovation and their prospects were considered.
