On November 14, 2025, the Tajik Academy of Agricultural Sciences held a solemn ceremony dedicated to the President’s Day of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event was attended by and featured speeches from Shahboz Shosaidzoda Shosaid, a Member of the Assembly of Representatives, and Asomuddin Shamolovich Ahmadiyon, a representative of the Ministry of Justice.
The ceremony was opened by the President of the Academy, Academician Salimzoda Amonullo Fayzullo, who spoke about the remarkable achievements of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. He emphasized that throughout history, there are personalities whose wisdom, vision, and devotion to their people can lead a nation from darkness to light. For the Tajik nation, such a personality is the Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon.
A society on the verge of collapse returned to stability thanks to the wise leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity. During the years of independence, Tajikistan, under the leadership of the President, made significant progress in building an independent democratic society. The national flag, emblem, and anthem were adopted; the national army and border forces were established; and the foundations of statehood were strengthened.
The international standing of Tajikistan has risen, and the country has established political, economic, and cultural relations with many developed nations. The constitutional order was restored, the national currency was introduced, and the national passport was recognized.
In his Address to Parliament, President Emomali Rahmon stated that the government’s main goal is to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the population’s well-being, particularly through achieving energy independence, food security, and eliminating the country’s communication isolation, as well as developing fundamental sectors led by private initiative.
He stressed: “The development of agricultural production is the most important factor in ensuring the country’s food security.” Thus, ensuring effective use of every plot of land and obtaining multiple harvests per year are key priorities of the current agricultural policy.
Member of Parliament Shahboz Shosaidzoda spoke about the outstanding historical personality of President Emomali Rahmon, his noble qualities, courage, compassion, and unique ability to unite the nation. He recalled the historic XVI Session of the Supreme Council in Khujand in November 1992, when Emomali Rahmon was elected as Chairman of the Supreme Council, and later — in 1994 — as the first President of independent Tajikistan.
Academician Komiljonzoda Davlatjon Qayumi highlighted that three major national celebrations are observed in November, including President’s Day. He noted that the President considers the development of science and education as a national priority.
Academician Pirizoda Jalil Safar presented economic indicators showing that agricultural production increased from 39 billion somoni in 2019 to 73 billion somoni in 2024 (a 1.9-fold growth). Salaries in the agricultural sector also increased by 30%. In recent years, the government has adopted numerous programs and strategies promoting sustainable agricultural development.
At the end of the event, Salimzoda Amonullo congratulated the guests and participants on this important occasion and wished them success.
