On September 28, 2026, a meeting was held at the Main Directorate for the Protection of State Secrets under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan as part of the implementation of the “State Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the Period up to 2030.” The meeting was attended by staff members of the Main Directorate and Mr. Khushbakht Boyzod, a representative of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the event, the Agency’s representative explained the provisions of the country’s anti-corruption legislation and state programmes, methods for identifying and preventing corruption-related factors, ways to raise public awareness of the importance of combating this negative phenomenon, and other relevant issues.
It was emphasized that corruption risks are not limited to the improper use of public funds or bribery. They may also take the form of abuse of official authority, conflicts of interest, the use of official powers for personal gain, nepotism, and other unlawful activities.
The meeting also addressed the impact of corruption on public security. It was noted that the weakening of the public administration and state oversight systems as a result of corrupt practices may create conditions for other legal violations and social threats to emerge.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that combating corruption is not solely the responsibility of government authorities but also requires the active participation of civil society, organizations, the mass media, and every citizen. Preventing corruption, complying with the law, and improving legal awareness are essential factors in strengthening stability and security and ensuring the sustainable development of society.
