A Ceremonial Event Dedicated to the 114th Anniversary of Tajik Press Day Was Held
Today, on March 11, 2026, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 114th anniversary of Tajik Press Day was held at the State Philharmonic of Tajikistan named after Akasharif Juraev.
The event was attended by Masrur Abdullozoda, Advisor of the Senior Department of the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Social Development and Public Relations, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan Sattoriyon Matlubakhon Amonzoda, First Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan Maliksho Nematзода, as well as representatives of the country’s journalistic community.
As the leadership of the Ministry of Culture noted: “Tajik Press Day is one of the important achievements of the period of the country’s independence. Information agencies, newspapers, magazines, television and radio, as key means of communication, play an important role in presenting the state and the Tajik nation on the international stage.”
For significant achievements in the development of the press sector, a number of representatives of the field were awarded the badge “Excellent Worker of the Press of the Republic of Tajikistan” on the occasion of Tajik Press Day.
It was also noted that, for their valuable contribution to the development of Tajik journalism, a number of industry veterans and active journalists were awarded monetary prizes by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is worth mentioning that several journalists were awarded prizes by the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan, while the Union of Journalists of Tajikistan established awards named after Abulkasim Lahuti, Asadullo Sadulloev and Vohid Asrori, which were also presented this year to the best representatives of the journalistic community on Tajik Press Day.
For fruitful work, active coverage of important political, economic, social and cultural events of the country, promotion of the achievements of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, and in honour of Tajik Press Day, several publishing institutions of the sector were awarded Certificates of Appreciation and Certificates of Honour from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
