In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated December 12, 2023 No. AP-470, on the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan together with the executive authorities of the Khatlon region and the city of Norak, on November 2 of this year the “Pomegranate Producers Festival” began to be celebrated in the city of Norak.
The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Asozoda Nurali, Chairman of the Khatlon region Davlatali Said, President of AIKT Salimzoda Amonullo, Rector of the Shahtemur DAT Mahmaderzoda Usman, representatives of a number of cities and regions of the republic.
The purpose of this event is to promote product development, presentation of farming methods, exchange of experience and implementation of scientific advances in production.
It is worth noting that in all types of agriculture in the republic, orchards are planted on an area of 2722 hectares, of which 1359 hectares are fruit-bearing. In 2023, farmers harvested almost 5,000 tons of pomegranates. At the “Festival-Exhibition of Pomegranate Growers,” farms and individuals who made a significant contribution to the development of pomegranate cultivation and the organization of this event were awarded diplomas, certificates of gratitude, and souvenirs from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan. and the executive power of the Khatlon region.
